Self Care – The first step
Practice self love and care. Taking time out for yourself is a good practice.
Practice good self-care. You will love yourself more, when you take better care of your basic needs. People high in self-love nourish themselves daily through healthy activities, like sound nutrition, exercise, proper sleep, intimacy and healthy social interactions.
Time out doing things you love but have not had the time time to do is vital to help support wellbeing. Meeting friends and girl time.

Hibiscus Tea
Can be used to help flushes. This is a easy way to help support menopausal symptoms.
Hibiscus and Sage tea is beneficial for women
Hibiscus tea is rich in anti-oxidants which can fight against aging and keeps the skin healthy and glowing. Hibiscus is also known for its calming properties and good for managing hot flashes during the menopause. This is because it helps the Central nervous system and restores hormonal imbalances.
The vitamin C and anti-inflammatory properties of hibiscus tea can be highly effective when treating acne – so its good for teens going trough their transitions too.
Hibiscus tea speeds up metabolism
As mentioned above, hibiscus tea is rich in vitamin C. This vitamin plays an important role in improving one’s metabolism. The presence of vitamin C in hibiscus tea allows this tea to speed up and regulate our metabolism. If you are trying to lose weight, or are trying to maintain your current weight, then try drinking hibiscus tea regularly..
Sage
Effects of Pure Sage on Hot Flashes in Women
Research undertaken in Switzerland showed how helpful Sage was for menopausal women who reported at least five hot flushes day. This tablet contained fresh sage leaves. Tea is also an alternative.
Yoga
Helps build core strength and helpful during the any stage of life and good to do during peri and menopause – There are many different types of yoga to choose from and discover which one might be right for you. I like vinyasa flow and Pranic as they help me keep balanced in life. 20 mins a day is enough and I now use a few programmes that are my go to therapy for any time of stress. They always work.

Dietary changes
Making small but necessary dietary changes during any life stage for a woman can be helpful. During menopause again these can be easily achieved with a personalised bespoke plan. I recommend having a blood test to make it a targeted and focussed plan on the right amino acids and minerals needed.

Wild Yam Cream – Has been used as a topical cream and applied to skin, creams made with wild yam are marketed as a natural source of estrogen. However, there’s no definitive evidence (yet) to support whether wild yam increases estrogen levels . Its your choice.
Black Cohosh and Red Clover- Can been used to help stable women’s hormones and symptoms associated with many ailments such as blood pressure.
Meditation
Can be a useful practice for relieving anxiety caused by Menopause. Take a look at my classes under events for details of my events and programmes.

Natural alternatives to use :
- Staying hydrated. Water is vital as it provides hydration to the body at a cellular level. 8 glasses a day will help nourish you and your body.
- Phytoestrogens. Increasing flaxseed ( as seen in the table above) can help with Oestrogen deficiency.
- Omega-3 fatty acids. Found in deep marine and cold-water fish /flaxseed oil, can be helpful with vaginal lubrication.
- Eating a balanced Full fat diet. Low-fat diets are actually worse for vaginal dryness. I recommend unsaturated fats over saturated ones.
- Meditation – Attend a weekly class
- Yoga – find a class that suits your level and needs.
The Peri Menopause stage
The Peri-Menopause stage will be different for everyone and can typically be between 2-10 years (average of 4) before your final menstruation.
Keeping a journal can be helpful during this phase and helps me understand how to help you with your nutrition programme using your lived experiences and symptoms through this life stage.
Diet and lifestyle can play an immense role in improving and supporting women during their menopause symptoms.
